How We're Different
Most lunar calendar sites fall into two camps: pure astrology without scientific grounding, or raw astronomical data without practical guidance.
This project sits deliberately in the middle. Every data point is astronomically accurate — calculated from the same algorithms used by NASA and the U.S. Naval Observatory. Every ritual and practice is grounded in tradition — drawn from biodynamic agriculture, Indigenous knowledge, and contemplative practice. Every health claim links to peer-reviewed research — published in Science Advances, Nature Communications, and Current Biology.
No ads. No accounts. No tracking. Your data stays in your browser.
Created By
A designer, developer, and author of the original printed lunar calendar that inspired this project. The book was a static artifact — beautiful, but fixed in time. This web version does what print cannot: it responds to the current date, calculates real astronomical data, and evolves with every lunar cycle.
Built with a background in systems architecture, data visualization, and user experience design. The goal was to create the lunar resource I wished existed — one that treats both the science and the tradition with equal rigor.
Methodology
Meeus Algorithm vs. NASA HORIZONS Ephemeris
Our astronomical engine executes high-order periodic perturbations for lunar longitude ($\lambda$), latitude ($\beta$), and distance ($\Delta$), calibrated against NASA JPL DE440/DE441 benchmarks.

Privacy
This app collects no personal data. There are no accounts, no cookies, no analytics trackers, and no ads. Your journal entries, check-in data, and ritual favorites are stored exclusively in your browser's localStorage — they never leave your device. If you clear your browser data, it's gone. We believe a moon calendar should respect your attention the way the Moon respects the dark.

Platform Architecture & Tech Stack
All planetary, lunar phase angle, elongation, and zodiac coordinates are calculated directly on the user's device using Jean Meeus ELP2000 algorithms. Works seamlessly on airplanes and remote field expeditions without network access.
