A clear account of the data around the observatory.

This Privacy Policy describes the current behavior of Lunologium, an independent computational atlas and interactive almanac at lunologium.com. It applies to the public website, research instruments, calculators, embeddable views, and machine-readable endpoints operated as part of Lunologium.

This is a plain-language product document, not legal advice. The operator, business address, jurisdiction, and monitored privacy contact must be identified before a production launch. Until that is done, do not submit sensitive personal information through a public channel.

Lunologium is designed to work without an account, password, paid subscription, brokerage connection, or order-execution feature. The current application may process the following categories:

• Inputs you enter: dates, times, selected cities or coordinates, calculator choices, search terms, check-in notes, ritual preferences, and research settings.
• Browser-local state: settings and saved material may remain in your browser under keys including lunar_natal_profile, lunar-calendar-location, lunar_checkins, lunologium_energy_logs, recent glossary/lexicon searches, zodiac preference, ritual favorites, and saved research scenarios. This data is normally not sent to Lunologium’s server merely because it is stored locally.
• Optional research measurement: if you opt in inside the research interface, the application keeps aggregate action counts in your own browser. The current local measurement module is designed not to transmit those counts, URLs, research configurations, free-text inputs, or identifiers. When the existing production analytics integration is enabled, the application may also send an allowlisted action name—such as a comparison, citation copy, download, or share action—without the research values or page configuration attached.
• Location permission: some tools can ask the browser for your location after you activate the relevant control. The browser controls whether that permission is granted. A chosen location may then be saved locally for features such as moonrise, tides, or astrocartography.
• Hosting and security metadata: a host, CDN, or security provider may process ordinary request metadata such as IP address, user agent, referrer, timestamps, response status, and security/error logs. Exact providers and retention periods depend on the deployment configuration and must be confirmed before launch.

The current production application includes Google Analytics 4 with measurement ID G-HKZ92ZQFH8. If that configuration is retained, Google may receive information about browser/device activity, approximate location, referrals, and interactions, and may use cookies or similar identifiers according to its own terms and policies. Google’s terms require a privacy policy that describes this use and provides appropriate disclosures.

Lunologium’s product events are intentionally sparse. They contain only an allowlisted action name and do not include research values, query strings, location, birth data, free text, or saved scenarios. The local research-measurement opt-in controls browser-stored action counts; it does not itself constitute consent for Google Analytics.

Analytics is not loaded by the current development build. A policy alone is not a substitute for any consent or opt-out controls required by the visitor’s location. Before production launch, Lunologium must either remove analytics or implement the appropriate consent and preference flow, document the Google data settings, and verify the resulting behavior.

Browser-local storage is also used for product functionality. You can remove it through the site’s relevant clear controls where available or by clearing site data in your browser. Clearing site data may erase saved calculations, check-ins, locations, preferences, and research scenarios.

• to calculate and display requested astronomical or research views;
• to remember preferences and locally saved work between visits;
• to provide, secure, maintain, debug, and improve the site;
• to understand aggregate product use if analytics remains enabled; and
• to respond to a request you intentionally send through a future or published contact channel.

Lunologium does not currently offer a user account system, sell a personal-data list, or intentionally sell the browser-local values described above. Information may nevertheless be available to:

• the hosting, CDN, security, and error-monitoring services used to serve the site;
• Google Analytics, if its production integration remains enabled;
• authorities or other parties where disclosure is required by law or needed to protect the site, users, or rights; and
• third-party links or embedded services that you choose to open, which are governed by their own policies.

Market observations, astronomical calculations, citations, and other public research artifacts are not treated as private merely because you view them. A shared URL can contain the research configuration that you copied into it. Review a URL before publishing it, especially if future versions allow private inputs to be encoded there.

• You can decline browser location permission.
• You can clear saved local data through available controls or your browser’s site-data settings.
• You can decline optional research measurement and clear its local consent/count keys.
• You can block or delete cookies and similar storage through browser controls, although some functionality may stop working.
• You can request information about personal data held by the operator, correction, deletion, or other rights where applicable once a monitored operator contact is published.

Browser-local data remains until you remove it, the browser evicts it, or the application replaces it. Lunologium does not currently promise a fixed retention period for host/CDN/security logs or analytics records because those depend on the deployment and provider configuration. Those providers and retention windows should be recorded here before launch.

No internet transmission or storage system is guaranteed to be completely secure. Do not enter passwords, financial account numbers, government identifiers, health information, or another person’s sensitive information into Lunologium.

Lunologium is not directed to children and does not knowingly request personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information to the operator, use the monitored contact method published on this page once available.

This policy may change when the application, providers, or legal requirements change. The “Last updated” date will change with a material revision. A future version should also maintain a short change log and identify the operator responsible for privacy requests.
